Christian Sammut, Sous Chef

 

I always had a keen interest in the kitchen and started my career when I was seventeen, as a Trainee' Chef.  After two years I was promoted to III Commis.  Working hard and showing interest helped me during my 13 years, and now I am working as a Sous Chef - something I really enjoy doing.  I am trying to run the business as smooth as possible with my chefs and kitchen colleagues, in order to please our guests.  I wish to continue learning new things and experience new challenges.

I can honestly say that when entering this ‘concrete giant of a building’ for the first time on the 23rd April 1987 (or so it seemed at the pre-opening stages) - little did I realize I would still be here talking about it twenty-two years later!
 
Being employed with the Seashells Resort at Suncrest initially on part time and later full time basis for all these years and raising a young family (with two boys and a very patient husband at that) had its challenges for me personally, but the job satisfaction soon overcame all other difficulties one might encounter in such a busy operation.
 
As Personal Assistant to the General Manager, one is often involved in a number of issues, which renders the job even more interesting. I have always done my best to execute my duties in a professional manner; maintaining the best relationship possible with Management and all staff alike (who I consider to be my extended family!).  
 
Personal contact with guests; whether new acquaintances or welcoming repeat guests who consider the Seashells Resort their ‘home away from home’  - definitely makes my day !
