I am impressed by the improvements made over the years… I still go around, you know… all over the island, and the way Malta has changed – for the better – impresses me,” says retired teacher Valerie Castell, a lively British lady of 81 who has just ended her 24th month-long holiday in Malta, staying each and every time at the Seashells Resort at Suncrest.

Ms Castell came to Malta for first time 24 years ago, with her husband. AX Group organises cleaning campaign at Ta’ Fra Ben - Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Last Saturday, May 1, AX Group, one of the largest and most dynamic private companies in Malta, teamed up with St. Paul’s Bay Local Council to organize a clean up campaign at Ta’ Fra Ben. The event, aimed at returning one of Malta’s most beautiful coastlines to its pristine state was held between 09.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.
 
The event proved a successful one, with a total of 40 employees from AX Group volunteering for this activity. Those who rolled up their sleeves to clean the area work either at AX Head Office, Construction, The Palace, Victoria Hotel, Sunny Coast and Seashells Resort at Suncrest...

Seashells Resort at Suncrest Hotel back to business - Wednesday, March 10, 2010

The Seashells Resort at Suncrest will be reopening its doors to the first guests of 2010 on the 12th March, when it will be receiving its first group of guests for this year. Seashells has made use of the pre-planned winter closure period to undertake some maintenance work which could not have been carried out while guests where occupying the hotel and is now in a position to offer guests not only the level of service and quality they have come to expect but even more, with a number of offers, events and opportunities in the pipeline for the near future.

Comenius Project Partners hosted at the Seashells

During the month of November the members of the Comenius Project Partners were hosted at the Seashells Resort at Suncrest.

The topic of this project was Green Harmony and since it was launched in September the children from the participating countries focused on Global Warming.

Seashells Resort at Suncrest Hosts 72-hour LAN Tournament

LAN Parties Fast Becoming The New Entertainment For Our Technological Era
 
The concept of LAN partying is a new form of technological entertainment targeting a very specific knowledge-based audience where computer game aficionados get together with their computers and set up a network for the purpose of playing multiplayer computer games.

 

This innovative means of group entertainment is fast gaining ground in Malta in fact, the latest major LAN party was hosted recently inside Seashells Resort at Suncrest’s Poseidon Hall between the 18th and 21st September. During this event, over 100 hardcore computer gamers battled it out for top honours in a 72-hour LAN marathon tournament organised by Compleet IS Services.

AX Foundation’s Support for St. Peter Foundation - September 2009

AX Foundation recently organized a fund-raising BBQ at the Sun & Surf Lido of the Seashells Suncrest Resort in aid of St. Peter Foundation, a registered voluntary organization, run by Notary Tonio Spiteri with the support of a number of amateur fishermen together with a representation from all the professional stakeholders involved in the Maltese fishing industry.

Suncrest Hotel Rebrands itself to Seashells Resort at Suncrest - Monday, May 25, 2009

As part of a rebranding process the Suncrest Hotel has changed its name to Seashells Resort at Suncrest. The re-branding process forms part of the Hotel’s marketing strategy and commitment to improve accommodation and service standards.

 

Speaking about the launch of the new branding concept the Group’s Hospitality Director, Claire Zammit Xuereb said that “One of the main objectives in re-branding the Suncrest was to underline the resort amenities especially the location by the sea which make it extremely attractive for this market. In selecting the new identifier, we have retained the Suncrest name, because of the goodwill the hotel has accrued in the local market.”

Suncrest Hotel wins German TV viewers award – 17th April 2009

Viewers of the German TV station Sonnenklar TV, has awarded the Suncrest Hotel the Goldene Sonne 2009 viewers award for its varied summer holiday packages and amenities being offered by Hotel.
 
The Goldene Sonne 2009 viewers award was presented on behalf of the Director of Frosch Touristik International, Dietmar Gunz to the Hotel’s sales and marketing manager, Ludgarda Schembri during the recent ITB Fair in Berlin. During the presentation Ms Schembri was interviewed on the TV and was asked about Malta’s rich cultural patrimony as well as the hotel’s packages for the summer months which combine a mixture of culture and exciting excursions to Malta’s beautiful beaches.

Easter Sunday Concert at the Suncrest Hotel - Tuesday, April 07, 2009

An eighty five strong choir from Germany will be giving a concert of popular sacred and classical music at the Poseidon Hall at the Suncrest Hotel on Easter Sunday at 20.30 hrs. The concert will be free of charge and on a first come first served basis.
 
The chor 2000 from the former district of Brilon, Germany is currently in Malta to perform during the Easter festivities at St Francis Church in Valletta. The choir came together in the year 2000 and is composed of the best elements of 17 former choirs. This is not the first time that this choir has performed overseas in fact throughout the past few years it has performed during various concerts in America, Scotland, Poland, France and the Netherlands.

New General Manager for the Suncrest Hotel - 1st April 2009

The Suncrest Hotel has announced the appointment of Mr Joseph Vella as the new Hotel General Manager.
 
Mr Joseph Vella, who will be overseeing the hotel’s operations, brings with him extensive experience in the hospitality industry. In the past 12 years he held senior posts in major hotel resorts in Malta, making his expertise in all areas of resort operations and sales and marketing a valuable addition to the hotel.
